Corrosion has set in underneath the lacquer, and is spreading all over the face of the wheel, making it look extremely untidy. Also it doesn't help that the wheels had been balanced using clip on rim weights to the face, these damage the lacquer allowing moisture and salt to penetrate, thereby causing the corrosion.


2 piece split rims

split rims are an atractive option but do take a lot of looking after. Normally they have a coated centre and a machined finished rim.

Due to this design they are prone to corrosion and oxidisation on the rim, which makes them look very unsightly.

Our soloution is to split the wheel, blast clean both halves then apply a 3 stage powder coat to both. Now both the centre and rim are now protected.
